With the nature of this pandemic, we found another level of happiness in the kitchen. This gave us lots of time to design our joyful, heavy duty apron in collaboration with Diaspora Co.
An incredibly functional, machine washable, heavy on the pocketed design - the Cassata Cream Apron is intended to make everyone feel warm and fuzzy like our favourite ice cream. With our signature stripes in the colour of sunshine, here's to carrying our childhoods to the kitchen every single time.
Exclusively designed and made with our team of dyers and printers in Delhi. Each apron is dyed and screen-printed by hand with 8 screens to ensure continuous, straight lines.
Diaspora Co. was founded in the fall of 2017 with the big, audacious dream to grow a radically new, decidedly delicious and truly equitable spice trade, to push a broken system into an equal exchange, and to have a lot of fun doing it. Today, Diaspora Co. sources 30 single origin spices from 150 farms across India and Sri Lanka. Farm partners are paid an average of 6x above the commodity price. For them, being in this community is about connecting deeply with the culture and heritage of the regions that they source from, and about learning as we go. Complicating and deepening what "Made in South Asia" means, and how they tell their own stories of freedom, struggle, and diaspora through food.
